What are Google doing to your page titles?
In the first webinar of our three-part content, SEO and analytics series, we talk about Google’s page title update from 2021.
What is this? Google has changed the way page titles are displayed in the search results.
Why is this important for you? Your carefully curated page titles might not be appearing in Google as expected (because Google has a new way of deciding what titles to generate). We have a way of discovering which page titles have changed and what they’ve been changed to, using Google Sheets Scripts Editor.
If this sounds daunting, don’t worry! Here we share an overview of what the update is and what it means, before taking you through a step-by-step guide for:
- checking if your page titles have been affected
- seeing how they’ve changed, and
- minimising the chances of your page titles being changed by Google
We’ve written a couple of helpful articles about the update in case you fancy some additional reading - they're split into part one and part two.
Watch the second and third webinars of our content, SEO and analytics series, where we talk about the benefits of running a content audit on your website and how to measure the performance of your content.
