Django developers please

Author: Andy Hartwell

Substrakt are looking for a talented Django developer to work full-time on two key projects for the education and creative sectors. There’s scope to work on new projects too. You’ll join a tight-knit team of Django, Rails and PHP developers, building cloud-based apps deployed via Heroku, DigitalOcean and Amazon Web Services.

We plan our projects without getting bogged down in management terminology, so you’ll get to write code straight away. Our education project has proven incredibly popular since its launch last year and is already exploring an international market, and you’ll get the chance to help shape our creative startup project as it heads into open beta.

Experience with Python, Django 1.6 and Git is a must, with a solid working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript very desirable. You should also be familiar with Vagrant, provisioning tools like Ansible, and continuous deployment via services like AWS. If you know Rails too then you’ll really stand out.

You’ll be joining a passionate, committed and knowledgeable team of developers and UX designers in which everyone codes. We’re predominantly based in Birmingham, but we’ll consider remote working within the UK. Working with Substrakt comes with some tip top benefits including an annual bonus, conference allowance, regular social events, hack days, pension, cycle scheme, childcare vouchers and more.

Please contact Mark, our Technical Director with details of your experience, a link to your portfolio and links to any public Github repositories you’ve created, or majorly contributed to. No agencies please.
